Discovery of the Radio and X-ray Counterpart of Tev Γ-ray Source Hess J1731-347
We discover a faint shell-type radio and X-ray source, G353.6-0.7, associated with HESS J1731-347. G353.6-0.7 is likely an old supernova remnant (SNR), based on radio (0.8 GHz, 1.4 GHz and 5 GHz), infrared (8 µm from the GLIMPSE Legacy Project and 21 µm from the Midcourse Space Experiment), and X-ray (0.1 keV-2.4 keV from the ROSAT survey and 5-20 keV from the INTEGRAL survey) data. The SNR, ce...
متن کاملXMM - Newton observations reveal the X - ray counterpart of the very - high - energy γ - ray source HESS J 1640 – 465
We present X-ray observations of the as of yet unidentified very high-energy (VHE) γ-ray source HESSJ1640–465 with the aim of establishing a counterpart of this source in the keV energy range, and identifying the mechanism responsible for the VHE emission. The 21.8 ksec XMM-Newton observation of HESSJ1640– 465 in September 2005 represents a significant improvement in sensitivity and angular res...
متن کاملThe soft X - ray counterpart of the newly discovered INTEGRAL source IGR J 16195 – 4945
The INTEGRAL satellite, during its regular scanning observations of the Galactic plane, has discovered several new X-ray sources emitting above 20 keV. The nature of the great majority of them is still unknown. Here we report on the likely low energy counterpart, observed with ASCA in 1994 and 1997, of one of these sources, IGR J16195–4945. The ASCA source is faint (F2−10keV∼10 −11 erg cm s), h...
متن کاملSupergiant X-ray binaries observed by Suzaku
Suzaku observations are presented for the high-mass X-ray binaries IGR 116207-5129 and IGR 117391-3021. For IGR 116207-5129, we provide the first X-ray broadband (0.5-60 keY) spectrum from which we confirm a large intrinsic column density (NH = 1.6 X 1023 cm-2), and we constrain the cutoff energy for the first time (Ecut = 19 keY). A prolonged (> 30 ks) attenuation of the X-ray flux was observe...
متن کاملSuzaku Observation of HESS J 1825 − 137 : Discovery of Largely - Extended X - rays near
We observed the brightest part of HESS J1825−137 with the Suzaku XIS, and found diffuse X-rays extending at least up to 15 (∼ 17 pc) from the pulsar PSR J1826−1334. The spectra have no emission line, and are fitted with an absorbed power-law model. The X-rays, therefore, are likely due to synchrotron emission from a pulsar wind nebula. The photon index near at the pulsar (r ≤ 1.5) is Γ= 1.7 whi...
